DJ Maxim grew up surrounded by music.  His parents met while performing in a band together.  His father played keyboards and his mother sang.  His older brother is a professional saxophone player who used to practice in the bedroom that they shared together as kids. Growing up, music and entertainment was embedded in his soul and he wanted to share that passion with others. Besides playing keyboards and piano from a very young age, in 1997, at the age of 14, Maxim decided to become a DJ. His first gig, at the age of 15, was performing for a birthday party with a guitar amp, a cassette player and a keyboard which his father purchased for him at a pawn shop. The passion for the art of DJing grew from there and Maxim invested in more equipment over the years – turntables, CDJs, speakers, amplifiers, lights, endless vinyl records as well as many CD singles, covering genres from pop to rock, hip-hop, r&b, house/dance to Baltimore club and even international music. His father always taught him the need to play to any crowd and any preference and Maxim understood this need from an early age.  From 1999 to 2003, Maxim worked as the main DJ for one of NY’s top MCs doing Weddings, Mitzvahs, Birthdays and other celebrations nearly every weekend.  This was a great and valuable learning experience because he was able to work alongside what would become his mentor, MC Timokha. This experience allowed Maxim to learn the art of MC and allowed him to eventually host and MC weddings on his own.  In 2004, DJ Maxim met his wife and wanted to stay more local.  He worked as a resident in Baltimore’s Power Plant Live, playing 5 nights per week at Bar Baltimore, Have a Nice Day Cafe and Lucilles. In 2007 everything came full circle for DJ Maxim as he married the love of his life, with his mentor, MC Timkoha, as the MC of the wedding. Walking into this next stage of life and starting a family, that same year, Maxim left the nightclub scene and returned to the private event avenue, doing Weddings, Bar /Bat Mitzvahs, Birthdays, Anniversaries and other life celebrations as a DJ and MC.  Today, over 20 years since his first gig, Maxim continues to enjoy his love and passion for music and entertainment more than ever, transcending that passion through his work and endless abilities as an event DJ, host and entertainer
